Costa Rica

Although the country is most famous for coffee, there is a cigar industry in Costa Rica that is starting to get the reputation it deserves. Costa Rica has fertile land and an ideal environment for growing tobacco. There are many good cigars made in the country that go unnoticed and some great puros (a cigar whose ingredients: filler, wrapper and wrapper are grown in the same country). After Hurricane Mitch in 1998 which caused much greater damage in Honduras and Nicaragua, the cigar industry in Costa grew. However, Costa Rica's cigar industry has been limited because it is the most expensive country in Central America.
