Raised in Cuba and steeped in the rich tradition and heritage of the Fernandez family, Abdel today produces nearly 60,000 cigars a day. Exceptional quality has propelled it in a few years as one of the major players in the production of great cigars in Nicaragua. In order to ensure impeccable quality Abdel Fernandez oversees the daily operations of the Tabacalera AJ Fernandez Cigars in Estelli: under his watchful eye a production of great regularity is assured. Thanks to a fusion of hereditary technique and patience, Abdel has notably selected the best seeds of great tobaccos, grown for the most part in exclusive properties of the Fernandez family. “My grandfather started growing tobacco in Cuba before Castro, in our hometown of San Luis. I learned the importance of patience and the methods developed over several generations working with premium tobacco.
